Client Account Audit Certification

Letting agents who are members of, and regulated by, an industry governing body, are usually required to undergo an annual client account audit as part of their membership requirement.

With NALS Approved Service Provider status, we can provide NALS members with Approved Audit Certification. This is available with our Two Plus and Three options – to qualify, Lettings Genie must process and manage client accounting and tenant deposit money in line with our Client Accounting and Tenant Deposit Services Agreement. If you meet all terms and conditions of the agreement for one year your client account audit will be carried out at our offices by our NALS-approved chartered auditors for a fraction of normal professional accountancy charges. We send you a certificate of compliance and pass a copy on your behalf to NALS.

In essence, we take responsibility for reconciling your Client Account bank account. We pay money from the account on your behalf and any money held in the account for settlement at a later date, such as advance rent paid and landlord maintenance retentions, we record within the system. We lodge tenant deposits with the Deposit Protection Service (custodial scheme). If the deposit falls outside current Deposit Protection legislation, it is accounted for and recorded in the system on the Virtual Bank Statement.
